Elaine Bolz Guest at Studio #11 5808 Tinnin Rd. NW
I have been creating artwork for over 40 years and have maintained a studio and small gallery at 4685 Corrales Rd. in Corrales, NM for the last 28 years. My ceramic pieces are sculpted from white earthenware clay. After the first firing, they are airbrushed and painted with underglazes, fired at least once again and then sprayed with a clear glaze. All are fired at least three times. In my paintings I use some of the same imagery as is in my clay work. The paintings are created with acrylic paint on board. I use forms and imagery from nature, which I adapt to fit my needs and whims. I love color, texture and contrast. My goal is to create work in which the natural
world is viewed as marvelous and beautiful, as something to be honored and protected. My desire is to produce pieces that have beauty, fantasy, and an element of soft surprise.
