Martha Rajkay Studio #8 7115 Guadalupe Trail NW
“Born in Hungary and immigrating to the United States as a child, I have always been fascinated by color, shapes and textures. I started painting as a child and was encouraged when I won several art contests and received portrait commissions at an early age. I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore with a BFA in painting. I continued my education and received a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Goucher College, after working as an Art Therapist for several years I returned to College and completed a Master’s degree in Social Work. I work as a Behavioral Health Therapist combining my mental health and art background while treating patients in the community.
I have painted throughout my Behavioral Health career. I have at times focused more on portrait painting of people and animals. Most recently I paint the varied and striking landscape of New Mexico, in oil, acrylic and pastels. I have also developed an interest in painting still life, vegetables and flowers for their structural beauty. My work hangs in prominent homes throughout the country.
I currently live in the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque and participate in several local gallery shows and studio tours. Thank you for visiting my web site. Please contact me if you have an interest in purchasing my art.”
